NCEA Level 3 Statistics

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr J. Moore.

This course is aimed at those students who have a flair for Statistics and intend doing degree courses at university that require a high level of statistical skills.  This is a comprehensive course, focusing on in-depth statistical analysis.

Recommended Prior Learning

A student needs to have passed at least five Level 2 Statistics Achievement Standards including Achievement Standards AS 2.9 (91264) and AS 2.12 (91267) covered in the L2STA course to be able to cope with the statistical and critical thinking required in this course.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

• 1 x 1B5 exercise book and/or lined refill.
• Pens and/or pencils.
• Laptop would be an advantage, but not required.

Assessment Information

Achievement Standards 91580, 91581, 91582, and 91583 are assessed as open-book assignments and have no reassessment opportunity.
Achievement Standard 91584 is an External Standard assessed in November.
Students can request entry for Scholarship Statistics and will be given access to resources to follow a self-teaching programme.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.

This course is eligible for subject endorsement.

This course is approved for University Entrance.
