Year 9 Art is a two term, one semester course where students engage in a range of mediums including drawing, printmaking, painting and stencil spray art. The course encourages creativity and the opportunity for students to try a range of techniques and to learn about idea development and art contexts.
Art develops problem solving skills and creative skills. Students gain good attention to detail, time- management and the ability to plan and follow processes to gain the best outcome. These skills are important in all career pathways.

These factors can also impact on timetabling, and as a result students will be asked for input about any clashes that may occur.
Where a course is not able to be run, students' back-up subjects will be used. If there are issues with student selections and the timetabling process, students will have the opportunity to make a decision in conjunction with staff input on the best solution.
