Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

A student needs to have passed at least five Internal Level 1 Mathematics and Statistics Achievement Standards covered in any Level 1 Mathematics and Statistics course including passes in at least three of the Internal Standards AS 1.1 (91026), AS 1.4 (91029), AS 1.5 (91030) and AS 1.7 (91032) to be able to cope with the mathematical thinking required for this course.


This course is aimed at those students who wish to continue with Mathematics, but do not need the comprehensive skills covered in Level 2 Algebra and Level 2 Statistics.  This course is a general course providing a mixture of Mathematics and Financial Capability based credits at Level 2.  It is terminating course with no pathway into any of the Level 3 Mathematics and Statistics courses.

Assessment Information

Achievement Standards 91258, 91259, 91260 and 91576 will be assessed via closed book testing and each will have a reassessment opportunity.
Unit Standards 28094 and 28104 are assessed as open-book assignments and have no reassessment opportunity.
