Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

Student should have an interest in physical activity, be prepared to work as a team, and have a willingness to improve their own Fitness levels and  Hauora / well-being.

Students applying for this course must have a high engagement rate in a Level 1 HPW, HPS or ODE course. 

The pre-requisite for entry into this course is passing  1.1 (Performance based Assessment) and 1.4 (external assessment  based on Human Anatomy) in Year 11.  

Any other students applying for this course, who did not take a HPW based course the previous year, will be accepted at the discretion of the Head of Department. 


Physical Education at Level 2 provides students opportunities to continue to build on existing skills and gain new skills within a variety of movement contexts.  

Students also complete a comprehensive training programme to develop their personal fitness and knowledge within a practical and theoretical environment.  

Being able to work in a Team environment will be a crucial element for success in this course.
